I was reading my old flame, rec.arts.disney.parks, the other day, and I noticed an interesting theory about goths:

I guess I'm just showing my age or something, but I am not sure what a Goth is. Are you talking about the kids that dress like vampires? I guess Goth is short for gothic? Personally, I think this whole thing that kids do with dressing oddly and piecing and such is very silly.

When I was a teen, we were polite and well dressed, but our big thing was drinking and drag racing (sometimes simultaneously). Whenever we got caught, it usually meant a good lecture and being grounded. Today, it would mean rehab and possibly jail time. I guess the methods of expression have just changed with the times.
